The sunflower is a very common plant and, I guess, it
doesn’t need a description anymore. There are
so many types of sunflower where
it is not only cultivated for beautification, but for medicinal purposes as
well.
The crushed leaves and seeds made into a poultice is used
for application over bruises, ulcers and wounds. Its flowers and the dried or
fresh leaves prepared as tea is for pulmonary diseases, bronchitis, asthma, coughs,
dysentery and whooping cough. A drink made from the sunflower seeds can relieve
headaches and also a treatment for nervous conditions.
